Halstead House | Bethanie & Michael

This was my first visit to Halstead House in Leicestershire I couldn’t believe my luck when I saw the stunning views behind the old manor house. Beyond the lake were the views of the Leicestershire countryside.  Miles and miles of nothing but green fields (and the odd sheep!) I loved the cobbled ground, stone walls and wooden gates. They all added to the rustic charm of the old barn where Bethany and Michael got married and later had their wedding breakfast. It was a perfect day. We were blessed with glorious sunshine and guests were able to enjoy sitting outside whilst admiring the views during the cocktail hour. They even had a colourful array of ice-cream on tap to help keep them cool and refreshed while I stole the newlyweds away for their bride and groom photos.

When I arrived at Halstead House, all was quite. Bethany was sat in front of the dressing table. She was looking out of the window and seemed a million miles away. Thinking. Thinking about this day and all the months of preparation and planning that had gone into making it something truly special and something they both would never forget. It wasn’t quite for long though; soon the house burst into action and everyone was busy buzzing around. Hair was being twizzled and curled, makeup was being applied and dresses where being taken out of their plastic coverings and being laid out ready to wear. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Bethany put her bridal dress on and took one final look in the mirror before heading to meet her husband to be.

PS look out for the best man. It’s the little ones you need to watch out for. They’re by far the funniest and will have everyone crying with laughter…including the photographer!
