South of France Wedding photographer | A Personal Note

Thinking of booking a South of France Wedding Photographer? Pick me! Pick me!

Christmas and New Year already seem like such a long time ago don’t you think? I feel like I’ve been hibernating for the last few months; sitting in front of the wood burner on my new window seat, drinking hot chocolate and reading book after book. It’s been so snuggly and warm in Rose Cottage over the winter months. It’s provided me with the much needed time and space to recharge my batteries and grow my creative thinking. I hope you all managed to find your own little piece of solace and calm over what can be a hectic time of the year.

Now fully recharged, I feel ready to face the year ahead! Full of creative ideas, exciting plans and a diary full of beautiful weddings. Bring on 2017…I’m in love with you already!

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to spend a weekend with not only 5 likeminded fine art wedding photographers, but a bunch of great people that I am proud to call friends. The weekend was about good company, eating good food, drinking French wine and shooting ‘just for fun’. Christina’s wonderful French Manor House in Mouilleron-En-Pareds was the perfect retreat. I can honestly say it was one of my favourite weekends ever. I can’t remember the last time I spent so much time laughing that I actually lost my voice. And when at 4.00am the conversation was still in full flow and sleeping felt like an inconvenience. Ever had one of those weekends? They’re the best right?!  South of France Wedding Photographer

I decided to leave the digital camera in the house and spent much of the weekend shooting with my film one instead. It knidda feels different when you’re shooting film. Every frame has to count. You stop and think more.  Plus the photos! They just have this quality that you can never recreate with digital.

Here are a few relaxed, informal and ‘just because’ photos of the weekend. They make me smile every time I look at them and take me back to that time in France when I felt I could achieve anything in 2017…
