Fine Art Wedding Photographer | St Mary’s church | Katie & Jeff

St Mary’s church: Katie and Jeff, well what can I say? Totally and utterly adorable from the inside out! I remember our first SKYPE meeting one evening almost 12 months ago; Jeff was wearing his superman PJs and Katie was cosied up on the sofa in her onesie. When I confessed that although I was wearing a smart top, I too was wearing my PJ bottoms and slippers, we couldn’t stop laughing. The joys of SKYPE, and the head to waist framing. It wasn’t long before we were sitting, drinking a hot cup of tea whilst talking weddings. It was as if we were all sitting in their lounge together. I knew from that moment we were going to get along just fine.

Katie got ready with her whole team at her cousins house. A lovely, open plan space where they could all be pampered and pruned to perfection.  It was a morning of excitement, giggles and bubbles as the girls exchanged makeup tips and watched Katie’s transformation. They all had beautiful matching robes that Katie had gifted to her bridesmaids.  Jeff had organised for huge bunch of flowers to be delivered which accompanied a card with heartfelt words about how this, today would be the perfect day. Judging by the look on Katie’s face I would say these were totally unexpected and a beautiful romantic gesture from Jeff.

Arriving in a vintage Roll-Royce, the couple opted for a traditional church wedding at St Mary’s church in Luton. Even the rain couldn’t put a dampener on this wedding.  Jeff couldn’t take his eyes off Katie throughout the service. She looked breath-taking. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house by the end of the ceremony, especially after Katie’s cousin sang so beautifully during the signing of the register.  Even Katie’s grandmother got up and did a reading as part of the ceremony. All these personal touches meant that the day was even more special and St Mary’s church provided a lovely, traditional ceremony location.

We sneaked off to Stockwood Park for some couple photos after the ceremony.  Visitors wanted to shake the hands of the newlyweds and children thought Katie looked like a real life princess. They weren’t wrong!  We had so many pretty backdrops to choose from and even the rain clouds decided to break while we mooched round the grounds chatting and taking photos .

Katie and Jeff had their wedding breakfast at White Horse – Tea green. With a lovely reception room, exposed beams, wooden floors and large windows, this made the perfect space for their guests. It was a mixture of traditional and informal with lots of personal touches. I always love a good speech and these guys didn’t let me down. There were tears, laughs and even a few cringes – all the vital elements.

After the first dance the bridal party and groomsmen sprung into a surprise dance routine. I think Katie’s face says it all! No one was expecting it and everyone cheered them along as they busted their moves. What a way to get the party started!
