Hothorpe Hall : It all started at Coombe Abby…not just the proposal but the dating too. Kenny and Emily spent many weekends walking round the grounds and having picnics in the bird hide when they started dating. It had been a while since Emily and Kenny had last visited. On their four year anniversary Kenny suggested that they go there again. They sat in the bird hide having a delicious picnic lunch. Kenny was pointing at a bird that was hiding in undergrowth. Emily was so busy trying to figure out what she was meant to be looking at, that she didn’t notice Kenny taking a few steps back so that he was down on one knee behind her! She was so shocked that she forgot to say ‘yes’ and instead picked up the ring and said ‘thank you’…
Emily and Kenny chose to get married at Hothorpe Hall. Based in Theddingworth, Lutterworth you can see why this is such a popular venue with couples. It has such flexible indoor space and vast, well-manicured gardens. Hothorpe Hall offers so many options for couples and of course a great backdrop for wedding photos too! I love the main, stone entrance of the hall. It makes such a grand impression and sets the scene for the rest of the manor house.
Emily wanted to go all out with her wedding dress. She wanted to feel like the bell of the wedding ball. Emily chose to wear a spectacular Viva Bride waterfall ball gown from Web2B that was fit for a princess and suited Hothorpe Hall perfectly. Emily teamed this up with an ‘every girls dream’, a sparkly pair of Jimmy Choos. With a sophisticated hair up do by Wedding Hair by Kate and makeup by Helen Brady, the finished look was simply beautiful.
All was calm in the morning when the bridal party were getting ready. Music was playing and champagne was flowing. Flower girls were watching the grown up girls put on their makeup and have their hair twisted and pinned into elaborate dos. Page boys were playing and dancing and everyone was wonderfully relaxed including Emily.
Emily and Kenny got married in Hothorpe Halls Terrace Room. With décor that adds a touch of elegance and overlooking the gardens and rolling hills beyond, the views were spectacular. Kenny waited nervously with his groomsmen, greeting and welcoming guests as they arrived and took their seats. Emily took everyone’s breath away when she walked up the isle including Kenny’s. Everything had come together perfectly. I love how relaxed the ceremony was. There was lots of laughing and even the registrar cracked a joke or two.
We were spoiled for choice with so many amazing backdrop to choose from for Emily and Kenny’s couple photos. I loved the views over the fields. It felt like we were miles away from everything.
I remember going through to tell Emily and Kenny that we were now ready for their grand entrance into the dining room. The couple were standing giggling while Emily was looking at Kenny’s bottom. It was then that I found out that in a moment of chivalry, whilst lifting Emily’s vale so that she didn’t stand on it, Kenny had split his trousers. Literally all the way from the back to the front! The three of us then stood there unable to control our fits of laughter. Good job he’d chosen to wear black boxer shorts that day…
I loved that Emily and Kenny decide to have a wedding breakfast with a twist. They’d chosen the option to ‘Host a Roast’. After all everyone loves a roast right?! One guest on each table was allocated chief carver. With chefs hats and aprons meat was carved and lashings of gravy poured. What a great way to get your guests involved!
When the day turned into night, Emily and Kenny had their first dance. Again there was lots of laughing and having fun.
Thanks for stopping by!
Much love
Daniela
