Over the last couple of years I’ve found that more and more couples are starting to include wedding albums as part of their wedding photography packages. Most couples always have good intentions after the big day to create an album themselves. But let’s be honest, work, kids and life in general stop us from getting it done. There’s always something more important to do, or something/someone that needs our attention.
Soon it’s 2 years later, and you still don’t have an album, and have lost all hope of ever having one! Your photos are left on a USB stick in a drawer or on the hard drive of the computer never to be seen again.
Don’t get me wrong, my couples usually have a handful framed and dotted round the house, but nothing that tells the whole story. It’s not unusual for couples to contact me 2 or 3 years after their wedding to design an album for them. Some couples use it as a ‘paper’ gift for their first wedding anniversary. I always think that’s a lovely touch – what better way to wake up on your first wedding anniversary, snuggled in bed together, with a coffee and a love story photobook of one of the best days of your life.
I often have couples ask me what a Coffee table albums is. So I thought now might be a good time to explain. Coffee table albums are albums where pages are the photographs themselves. The photos can be printed edge to edge or even across the fold of the page giving them that ‘wow’ factor.
The pages are mounted onto board, giving them a luxury, editorial feel. The album is then hand wrapped in soft, Italian leather that feels exquisite! You have the option to have your names and the date of your wedding embossed on the front.
When it comes to choosing your selection of images, I always reccomend choosing 20/30 of your favourite, ‘must have’ images. Then leave the rest to me. This way, I can select the photos that I feel work best together when I’m designing your album. You always have the option to swap and change any of the photos when I give you the first draft to look at. Couples often find that we have the same favourite photos due to the personal service I invest in getting to know them.
Coffee table albums are designed to be out on show, passed from one generation to another and enjoyed. What better way to keep your wedding day alive?
Did you know that if you add a coffee table album when you book me, you get 10% off the price? What better reason to add one to your package. Want to know more? I’d love to hear from you.
