Why a gift voucher isn’t just for Christmas

Family photo shoot

Seriously, what do you buy someone who has EVERYTHING? Every year I struggle to come up with something thoughtful and unique. And don’t get me started on birthdays, anniversaries, Mother’s Day, Father’s Days – the list is endless. Anyone else feeling my pain right now?

I often end buying people an ‘experience’ of some sort. I like the thought of them creating a memory out of a gift I’ve given them. Something that’s going to last beyond Christmas and not just end up in a drawer or at the back of the wardrobe. I always think it’s more personal and to be honest I know I’d be pretty happy if that’s what some bought me.

For my first Mother Days Chris bought me a gift voucher for a photoshoot. You have no idea how happy this made me. Those photos are so special to me and I can’t believe how small Noah was! I have lots of them dotted round the house and they always make me smile when I look at them. So when mum asked me what I would like for my birthday, I knew instantly what I wanted.

Why a gift voucher isn't just for christmas

My little family is growing up and changing so quickly and I wanted to create a special memory that I could look back at over and over again. So that’s what I did. I passed the details on to my mum of one of my favourite photographers and she bought me a family photo shoot gift voucher . Not only do we now have some more beautiful photos of my little family but I remember the fun we had on that day; splashing in puddles, followed by tickles and cuddles…

So you see. My Gift vouchers aren’t just for Christmas. They’re for life. A little bit of something that will always make you smile and will forever be a memory of that day you jumped in puddles, built a den out of sticks and drunk hot chocolate together wrapped in a fluffy blanket.
