Ever wondered what to give the person that has everything for Christmas? Or perhaps you’re like me and what to give that someone special a thoughtful and unique gift that they’ll always remember.
Not many people know this about me but I started my photography journey as a family photography. I photographed newborns, toddlers to teens! Capturing families growing together, making memories and filling their homes with photos that fill their heart with pride and joy.
As time went on, slowly weddings began to take over and I started to have less and less availability for family photoshoots. Eventually I was only photographing past wedding couples whose families were expanding.
Then COVID hit. It gave me the time and space to go back to my roots. In a time where family has never been so important as it was now, I was blessed with being able to capture the love and connection between so many families; and it wasn’t just parents with their children. It was grandparents, cousins and even the odd ‘fury friend’ making an appearance. Having a son of my own made me realise how important documenting our little family was. I have professional photos spanning back to him being a baby and I can’t explain how happy they make me feel when I look at them.
It’s really reminded me of why I love family photography so much and how I’ve missed it. As a result, I vowed to myself that each year I would leave some time in my calendar for a limited number of family photoshoots. Not just for passed wedding couples but also for families I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet. I want to document memories, connections, emotions and proud moments of your family tribe so that you can look back and say…this is us and I love everything about us.
